Each year the Oregon Ducks have several opportunities to show the Nation what they are about as a team. On Saturday the game against the UCLA Bruins will have a Nationwide audience on CBS and should show the country what the Oregon Ducks and the Pac-12 this season are all about. According to GoDucks.com, before the game fans will have several pretty cool opportunities. In pregame, Oregon will unveil a new 8 foot bronze statue of the Oregon Duck outside the Ford Alumni Center and fans will have the opportunity to get an up close and personal look at the 1939 NCAA Championship Trophy that has been newly refurbished.

Oregon has won four of their last five games, with a blemish on the road last weekend at Colorado being their only loss. On Thursday night they welcomed the USC Trojans and picked up a big Pac-12 Conference win.

Last Time Out(vs USC)

  • Elgin Cook continues to step up his game, against USC he had a team leading 26 points and hit 9 of 12 from the free throw line
  • Oregon had 7 blocks, some at key moments and 5 steals to go along with 10 turnovers on the Trojans.
  • Early foul trouble for Oregon lead to Roman Sorkin getting some key game playing time. In 7 minutes he hit a jump shot and pulled down a rebound.

While Dillon Brooks leads the Oregon Ducks with 15 points per game, Bryce Alford leads UCLA with 17 points per contest. The Bruins have lost 7 games this season, but are 2-2 in the Pac-12 Conference. UCLA is averaging just over 80 points per game this season and as a team can hit their shots averaging 46 percent from the floor and 36 percent from three point range. Oregon will need to play solid perimeter Defense and try to limit early foul trouble.

Brooks has led the team in scoring in 12 of the Ducks last 13 games this season and Oregon leads the Pac-12 when it come to RPI. Their strength of schedule is currently ranked 4th in the nation and Oregon has more wins over Top 50 teams than anyone else in the country at 8. Winning a big game at home over the UCLA Bruins can make a big statement for this team in just the third week of the Pac-12 season. The road trip following will be big test facing the Arizona schools next week, but first things first.
