2014 was not a good season for the Oregon Ducks. It was a year ago today that the team won their first Pac-12 Road Game. This year the team has flipped the script. Strike that. They have rewritten the script. The team from Eugene has dominated at home, yet to lose a game at Matthew Knight Arena and ended the Nation’s best winning streak which was held by Arizona at 49 games. The almost three year record fell on Friday night as Oregon went into the McHale Center and pulled off a big road win. Now the Ducks face another tough road test in Arizona State.
Last Time Out(vs Arizona)
- Oregon went on the road to Arizona and snapped a 49 game home winning streak
- Dillon Ennis continues to be the leader for Oregon leading again in scoring with 24 points
- The Ducks hit 57 percent in the 2nd half vs the Wildcats
Arizona State currently stands 11th in the Pac-12 and have lost three of their last four games, but by an average of five points or less. The Sun Devils beat Oregon State by 16 in their most recent outing and would love nothing more than to knock off the high flying Oregon Ducks on Sunday. Tra Holder leads Arizona State averaging over 15 points per game. ASU is averaging 76 points per game and allowing 71 points per contest.
The Sun Devils do have one advantage that no one else in the Pac-12 does. The ‘Curtain of Distraction’. Against Oregon State it made national headlines as Michael Phelps appeared in swimwear and wearing medals to distract the free throw shooting Beavers. The stunt worked and helped the team to a win. Oregon has secured another winning season for the sixth straight year. A win on Sunday would give the Oregon Ducks a two game lead on the Pac-12 Conference. With Washington falling, USC is currently in 2nd place.
