One of the most dynamic runners in Oregon Football over the last decade had decided to hang up his cleats. Thomas Tyner who helped lead the Ducks to a Pac-12 Championship in 2014 as well as the College Football Playoff and National Championship appearance will take a medical retirement from football.

On Thursday it was announced that Tyner, who missed the final five regular season games of the 2014 season with a shoulder injury will not return to the College game. In his stead, Running Back Royce Freeman has become a household name for Oregon and led the team in rushing the last two seasons including a record setting Freshman season and a confidence building Sophomore year in 2015. The hope was that Tyner and Freeman would be a 1-2 punch on the ground in 2016, but Oregon will likely look to Taj Griffin to fill the role following a highlight reel filled Freshman season for the Oregon Ducks.
Thomas Tyner was a 4-star recruit out of high school and played two season with the Oregon Football accounting for 1200 yards and 14 touchdowns in his two year career in Eugene. Unfortunately injuries play a part in the game of football and I will miss watching Tyner on the field with his spin move that was similar to something out of an EA Sports video game. His talent will be missed.
