Oregon Ducks Earn 20th Win Of The Season, Go 3-1 On Final Homestand
The Oregon Ducks won their 20th game of the season as Jillian Alleyne and Maite Cazorla led the team past USC at Matthew Knight Arena on Sunday.
The Oregon Women’s Basketball team has grown quite a bit in the last two seasons with Head Coach Kelly Graves at the helm. On Sunday, six Oregon Seniors played likely their final home game at Matthew Knight Arena including Jillian Alleyne, Lexi Petersen, Kat Kooper and Liz Brenner. USC would close out a four game home stand for the Oregon Ducks.

Oregon would have a slow start with 5 turnovers in the first quarter as USC would take a 14-7 lead in part on two three point shots from Courtney Jaco. The Trojans won the first quarter 16-9. The Ducks had two steals in the first 10 minutes, but the turnovers and several missed shots had them playing from behind. The USC Defense is playing close and physical. The Ducks had a tough time getting separation.
Oregon would come out as a different team in the second quarter as Maite Cazorla, Jillian Alleyne and Lexi Petersen tied the game at 18 in just two and a half minutes. Cazorla would lead Oregon in points after the second quarter with some key shots inside the paint with 14. Jillian Alleyne had 12 points and the Ducks led 32-26 at the break. Oregon finished the first half shooting 52 percent from the floor and had 7 steals.
To start the third quarter USC would go 1 for 5 from the floor and Maite Cazorla would continue going inside and landing shots to push her total to 19 for the game midway through the third. She was a big reason why Oregon had 26 points in the paint to the Trojans with 16. The rest of the quarter did not to the Trojans way as they made 1 of 16 shots and Oregon extended their lead to 48-34 with just over a minute left in the quarter.
USC would go on a run to start the 4th quarter and get within 7. USC would fight and get to within four points at 62-58, but Oregon would hang on to win the game. Maite Cazorla had a season high 25 points on the afternoon and Jillian Alleyne in her final home game added her 92nd career double double finishing the game with 20 points and 16 rebounds.

The Oregon Ducks finish the Pac-12 Regular season on the road this week visiting Cal on Friday and Stanford on Sunday before the Pac-12 Tournament.
