When it comes to the NFL Combine, the are certain things that are measured that can ultimately help or hinder a future College Player in the National Football League. The 40 time, how high you can jump, what you can bench press are all big factors on strength, agility and speed as scouts and teams look to position themselves for the best possible player come the end of April in the NFL Draft.

The Oregon Ducks have five players participating at the NFL Combine this week. Among them, a player who really doesn’t need to do much to improve his NFL Draft stock. DeForest Buckner is already pegged by many as a Top 5 First Round Draft pick, but one attribute has raised some eyebrows over the few days. Buckner, the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year has the largest hands in the history of the NFL Combine. Actually he tied the record, but does that really matter?

While at Oregon he was a beast. DeForest Buckner is 6 foot 7, 291 pounds and he hands measure 11.75 inches tall according to TheBigLead.com. If you need a point of reference a standard sheet of paper is 11.75 inches high. For another reference, one of the top Defenders in the NFL, Houston Texans Defender JJ Watt has a hand length of 11 1/8 inches.

The NFL Combine wraps up on Monday and then the real number crunching will begin as teams set their NFL Draft boards and do individual interviews of players. As for where Buckner could end up? Who knows, but wherever it is he will likely be an immediate starter and impact player for his new team at the next level.
