Oregon Baseball picked up their fifth win of the season and remained undefeated on Saturday night. Cole Irvin was stellar in his second game of the young season going 7 innings giving up 2 hits and 2 runs in a 4-2 win over the Illinois State Redbirds at PK Park. He had a career high 12 strikeouts. Austin Grebeck and Jakob Goldfard led the team in hitting with a combined with 5 hits and 3 RBIs. Grebeck also had a triple on the night that keyed a three run second inning for the Oregon Ducks.
Entering the series, Illinois State had the better batting average. On Friday it was timely hitting that won the game for the Oregon Ducks. On Saturday, it was Irvin shutting down the Redbirds holding them to hitting at 069, the Ducks hit at .233 and had three hits in clutch positions with two outs. Stephen Nagosek notched his first save of the seaon after switching over to the Closer role following being in the bullpen last season.

The four game series continues on Saturday with a first pitch set for 2pm with Matt Krook on the mound. The series finale is set for Sunday at Noon vs the Red Birds.
