Oregon Ducks Hold Court, Beat Huskies To Finish Season Undefeated At Home
Oregon would finish the regular season undefeated at home in beating the Washington Huskies in a game that came down to the wire.

The Oregon Ducks met the Washington Huskies on Senior Night and the final game at Matthew Knight Arena for their only regular season meeting of the year. If this game were played in the middle of the season it could have meant a lot more for Washington. As it stands the Huskies are playing for their NCAA Tournament lives on Sunday night in a hostile environment and sold out Matthew Knight Arena.
Washington would start the game with the ball and hit two back to back threes. The Oregon Ducks Elgin Cook hit two jump shots in the first two series for Oregon. Elgin Cook would take early control for Oregon heating up with 7 points to start the game. Dana Altman would watch his team get off to a solid start hitting 5 of their first 7 before going 1 for 6. At the 12 minute mark there was no separation. Oregon led 14-13.
Jordan Bell would change the momentum again on the Oregon Ducks favor with a steal and 2 point bucket, he was fouled and would miss the free throw, but Oregon would have a 6 point lead with just over five minutes left in the first half.
The Oregon Ducks hit 48 percent from the floor in the first half, but Washington was not far behind at 42 percent and were able to keep pace with timely three point shooting from Murray and David Chriss. Dillon Brooks would take their biggest lead of the night at 8 points into the locker room at halftime.
For the first half, Washington hit 5 of 14 from three-point range. Oregon was just 1 for 6. Oregon led at the half 40-32
Elgin Cook and Dillon Brooks would push the Oregon lead to 47-32 to start the second half forcing a Washington timeout. As gametime approached the 15 minute mark both teams began to find foul trouble. Oregon had Chris Boucher with 3 fouls and two other players with 2. Washington saw Marquise Criss with 4 fouls.
Casey Benson would pick up two quick fouls and land a basket and be fouled. He would hit the three point play. With just over 10 minutes left in the game the Huskies were down just 10 points and the sold out Matthew Knight Arena crowd were loud and proud for their team. In fact, it was the louded crowd I have heard at the home of the Oregon Ducks in the four years I have been covering basketball for the team.
The Huskies would go on a run hitting 5 of 7 to pull within 7 points with just over 7 minutes left. Elgin Cook would push the Oregon lead to 8 with 5 minutes left in the game. Jordan Bell would get a breakaway with just under 4 minutes left to push the Oregon Ducks lead to 11.

In the end the Washington Huskies gave their all, but came up short in a game that Oregon would win shooting 55 percent from the floor and out rebounding the Huskies 35-20. Despite 13 turnovers to 11 for Washington, the Ducks had 44 points in the paint and had 17 points off the Huskies turnovers. Five Oregon players finished in double figures led by Senior Elgin Cook with 26, Dillon Brooks had 19. The Huskies finished the game hitting 2 of 13 from the floor. Oregon won 86-73 and would finish the Pac-12 home season undefeated.

The regular season for the Oregon Ducks would end on the road this week at UCLA and USC before heading to Las Vegas for the Pac-12 Tournament.
