Oregon Ducks Softball: Janelle Lindvall, Gwen Svekis Power Oregon To 13-4 in UNLV Classic
The seventh ranked Oregon Ducks Softball team picked up two wins on Friday as Cheridan Hawkins threw a complete game shutout vs St Marys.

The Oregon Ducks are 13-4 on the season, their only real blemish was dropping two games against Louisiana Lafayette. Mike White’s team also fell to 17th ranked Kentucky, but had a chance in that one to tie or win the game in the final inning. As Oregon enters the month of March they will look to build winning momentum Hawkins was off to a good start with a dominating performance against Drake in the first game of the Alexis Park Resort Classic throwing a complete game with 14 strikeouts.
The Oregon Offense found their stride. Alyssa Gillespie, Geri Ann Glasco and Janelle Lindvall helped Oregon to a 4-0 lead and it was all Ducks from there. Lindvall, who already had a hit, cranked a Grand Slam breaking the game open at 13-2. The Ducks would add one more run to take the game over Drake 14-2. The Offensive firepower of Oregon was on show and Hawkins dominated the mound for the win. The second game against St Mary’s had similar results.
The Oregon Ducks opened the game taking a 3-0 lead. The Gaels would fight back with a two run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning. Danica Mercado and Nikki Udria extended the Ducks lead. Udria hit her second home run of the game in the seventh inning extending the lead to 5-3. Oregon continues the road trip on Saturday with games against Florida Atlantic and Southern Utah.
Florida Atlantic takes on Oregon at 3:45pm Pacific Time. Southern Utah is the nightcap that begins at 8:15pm.
