The Oregon Ducks are working ahead when it comes to recruiting and are being proactive toward the Class of 2017. The latest student athlete to receive an offer from Oregon is Athlete Bo Melton. Melton hails from Egg Harbor City in New Jersey and according to a Tweet it marks his 20th Offer overall. The Running Back/Wide Receiver also received an Offer from Virginia Tech this week according to 247Sports.

Melton is a 3-star Wide Receiver and is considered the 6th best at the position out of the State of New Jersey. 247 Sports sees Melton staying close to home and playing for Rutgers in the Big Ten, but colleges from around the country are taking notice. From Michigan to Virginia Tech to Oregon, when he takes his official visits Melton will have an opportunity and a decision to make. There is plenty of time before National Signing Day in February of 2017, but the recruiting cycle never ends. Melton has something to offer and 20 teams have take notice, including the Oregon Ducks.

Melton could fit in the Oregon Offense similar to Byron Marshall, as both a Running Back and/or a Wide Receiver. That has to be attractive for a player that has the ability to play both positions and to see a program that has had success with that style of player should make the Ducks fairly attractive. Time will tell, but Melton will be one to watch as we head toward the 2016 season.
