The Philadelphia Eagles are trading Running Back DeMarco Murray and the Tennessee Titans were the first to answer the call for his services bolstering their backfield for the 2016 season.

For the Tennessee Titans the 2015 season was missing a several pieces of the puzzle. Offensive Line help was one part of the problem, another was the running game. On Wednesday, the Titans solved part of the issue in trading for former Dallas and Philadelphia Running Back DeMarco Murray according to NFL.com and also likely saving a first round NFL Draft pick for another area of need for 2016.

Murray was the NFL Leading Rusher following the 2014 season when he was picked up by Chip Kelly, then Head Coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelly was fired before the end of the 2015 season and the Eagles hired Doug Petersen. The fire sale of former players, and freeing up coveted Salary cap space started on Tuesday with word that a trade was in the works to send Murray to the Tennessee Titans.

Tennessee Quarterback Marcus Mariota will have a weapon in the backfield that can both run with the ball and catch out of the backfield, a player that the Titans may have found in the NFL Draft, but now comes to the Titans looking to reset and get a fresh start to show he can perform following a sub par season with Philadelphia where he did not get the ball nearly as much as he could have in my opinion.
