Philadelphia and Miami have agreed to a trade that will send Linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Dolphins.

Chip Kelly brought Kiko Alonso to Philadelphia from the Buffalo Bills and helped his NFL Career. Last season, prior to injury Alonso showed promise as one of the top Linebackers in the National Football League, then he was injured and missed the last portion of the regular season that saw Kelly fired before the year was even over on the field. Doug Pedersen took over and began cleaning house with trading Running Back DeMarco Murray to the Tennessee Titans on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins reached agreement to send Linebacker Kiko Alonso and Cornerback Byron Maxwell to South Florida accordong to PhiladelphiaEagles.com. In return, Philadelphia gets to move up in the 2016 NFL Draft to the 8 spot, while giving Miami their 13th overall pick. The Eagles also land a 4th round pick from Miami.

In 2013 Alonso had 159 combined tackles in 16 games for the Buffalo Bills in his first season in the National Football League. He missed 2014 and came to Philadelphia for the 2015 season. He played in 11 games with one start. A key play came against the Atlanta Falcons as the former Oregon Duck picked off Quarterback Matt Ryan in the end zone. In the end, Philadelphia lost the game, but the play could have been a key turning point.

Now, Kiko Alonso will have a fresh start in Miami under a new head coach. He brings experience to the table and could be a key cog for the younger players for 2016.
