Pac-12 Tournament: Oregon Ducks Avoid Scare From Washington Huskies, Boucher With Double Double
The Oregon Ducks faced the Washington Huskies in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament on Thursday.
It was another sluggish start for the Oregon Ducks. Washington opened the game hitting 77 percent of their shots from the floor while holding the Ducks to 43 perent through the first 10 minutes. The Cougars would go on an 0-8 shooting drought. Oregon was unable to capitalize. The Huskies pushed the lead to 10 points with just over 6 minutes left in the first half.

Oregon hit their first three point shot of the game with 4:44 remaining in the first half. The Ducks then hit an 11-0 run to pull within one of the lead with just over 3 minutes left in the first half. The Cougars would go on a 2 for 16 scoring drought as the first half came to a close. In a game of runs, the Oregon Ducks have been the team to come through for a good part of the season and they did it again in the first half against Washington in the Pac-12 Tournament.
The Oregon Ducks would close out the first half hitting 4 of 5 from the floor to take a 39-38 lead into the locker room.
Oregon continued their first half momentum into the second half pushing the lead to 4 points with 10 minutes left in the game. Elgin Cook and Dwayne Benson joined Dillon Brooks with two personal fouls and Chris Boucher picked up his third personal foul early in the second half.
Chris Boucher had a double double with 19 points and 10 rebounds with 10 minutes left to play in the second half. The Huskies did not go away and go on a run of their own pulling to within two of the lead with just over 4 minutes remaining. It would come down to the final minute of the game as Oregon led Washington State 79-77. Free throws would put the Ducks ahead for good as they weathered the final scare from Washington to move on to the third round of tne Pac-12 Tournament.
Boucher would finish the game with 19 points and 10 rebounds and lead four Oregon Ducks in double figures. Elgin Cook also had 19 points. Tyler Dorsey finished with 17 and Dylan Brooks got going late to put in 15 points.
The Huskies finished the game on 1 for 6 scoring drought to end their regular season. Washington still has a shot at an NCAA Tournament bid while Oregon keeps their hopes alive for a number one overall seed.
