Following the Pac-12 Championship victory over the Utah Utes, Jerry Palm from CBS thinks that the Oregon Ducks have done enough to earn a number one seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Bracketologists have had a busy weekend moving teams in and out and up and down the seeding chart of what they think the NCAA Tournament field will look like. Following the Pac-12 Championship win, Joe Lunardi from ESPN sees Michigan State earning the top seed over Oregon, but the Ducks are still a strong number two. CBS Sports Jerry Palm has the Oregon Ducks smack dab in the middle of March Madness – entering the competition as a number one seed  and why not?

The Oregon Ducks were undefeated at home this season pushing their home winning streak to 25 straight games. The team finished the regular season 5-5 on the road which included two wins against Pac-12 Favorite Arizona, including a big road win at the McHale Center and an overtime win in the Pac-12 Tournament from Friday night.

Dillon Brooks has been a formidable Pac-12 Player of the Year candidate scoring 18 points per game. Freshman Tyler Dorsey can hit the long range shot as good as anyone and Head Coach Dana Altman was again named Pac-12 Coach of the Year, for the third time in four years. Momentum is in Oregon’s favor, riding an 8 game winning streak. They need just seven more wins to be National Champions.

We will know soon if the Tournament Committee feels the same way about the Oregon Ducks accomplishments this season.

The NCAA Tournament Selection show is set for 2:30pm Pacific Time on CBS.
