The Oregon Ducks picked up their first win without Jillian Alleyne on the floor in a confidence building won over Long Beach State on Thursay night.

The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basksetball team finished the season with 20 wins, but lost their final four games. It was not enough to get into the NCAA Tournament, but Kelly Graves did see his team have an opportunity to continue their season in the WNIT. On Monday it was announced that Oregon would host Long Beach State in the first round of the Women’s NIT on Thursday night at Matthew Knight Arena.
Long Beach State jumped out to a 6-0 lead before the Oregon Ducks scored their first basket over two and half minutes into the game. Gildon hit a two pointer and Lexi Peterson landed a three point shot giving the Oregon Ducks some life and pulling them within 4 with three minutes left in the first quarter against the Lobos.
Oregon saw the First Quarter come to an end down 25-19.

Back to back threes brought the Oregon Ducks back to take the lead two and a half minutes into the Second quarter. Lexi Peterson hit her second three point shot of the quarter pushing the Oregon Ducks lead to 33-29. Maite Cazorla pushed the Ducks lead to 8 with five minutes left in the first half. Lexi Peterson hit her third three pointer, giving her 18 points with 3 minutes left in the first half.
Kelly Graves saw his team win the second quarter and lead 46-38 heading into the locker room.
Long Beach State went on a 2 for 8 drought to start the second half, but Oregon did not do much better With five minutes left in the quarter, Oregon held a 10 point lead 56-46. The Ducks held on for the WNIT First Round won over Long Beach State.
Lexi Petersen led all scorers with 22. Oregon had five players in double figures despite ending the game on a 3 minute scoring drought. The Oregon Ducks won 84-76 over Long Beach State.
