The Oregon Ducks Women’s Basketball team won two straight games with out Jillian Alleyne in the lineup. They have used shots from beyond the arc to bring a game to the court that it appears Defenses have a hard time defending. Then again, maybe it is just the drive to follow through on every shot and never give up after losing their Star player to injury. The end of the regular season was not the best, finishing the Pac-12 Regular season on a two game losing streak and coming up with a thud vs Arizona in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament. Three straight losses left them on the doorstep and out of the NCAA Tournament but a door opened for the WNIT. Regardless, this team now appears to be on a mission.

Believe it or not, the Oregon Women’s Basketball team has a win record within sight. The most they have won in any season is 25 games. They could set a new record in winning the WNIT Title finishing the year with 26 victories. They have already passed the 20 win mark on the season and now have 23 wins for 2015-16. The Oregon Ducks have beaten Long Beach State and Fresno State and now have their sights set on a team the beat twice in the Pac-12 Regular season in Utah on Wednesday night at Matthew Knight Arena.

The Utah Utes are also having success in the WNIT. Through two games they are hitting close to 50 percent from the field and averaging over 90 points per game Emily Potter is fueling the Utes Offense averaging over 13 points and 12 rebounds in the WNIT. She has two double doubles in Tournament play.

Paige Crozon is benefiting from Potter’s rebounds and averging 21 points per game. She had 22 against Gonzaga on Monday night. Utah brings some WNIT Confidence into the matchup with the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday night.

Oregon has also seemed to find some Offense with 25 three point shots that have fallen through the net the last two games. Lexi Petersen is leading the charge and Jacinta Vandenberg has found the rebounds lost by Jillian Alleyne not playing due to a season ending injury.
