Oregon Ducks Softball Opens Jane Sanders Stadium Win Win vs Stanford
Oregon Ducks Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins powered her way to a complete game two hitter against the Stanford Cardinal after shaking off some early nerves in pitching in Jane Sanders Stadium for the first time on Thursday night.

The Oregon Ducks Softball team opened Jane Sanders Stadium on Thursday night to partly cloudy and mind conditions as the sellout crowd of 1626 was on hand to watch the Oregon Ducks open Pac-12 play in their new digs against the Stanford Cardinal.
It was a good start the the Oregon Ducks as Cheridan Hawkins kept Stanford off base in the first inning. The Ducks scored two runs in the bottom of the first against the Cardinal. Jenna Lilley singled to score Alyssa Gillespie and Koral Costa for the first runs for the new stadium. Hawkins would record her first strikeouts at home this season in the third inning. The Oregon Ducks Ace would limit Stanford and keep them not only off the bases but Strikeout __ batters in the game.
Lilley’s hit and two RBI’s led Oregon on the night as Hawkins limited Stanford to _ hits in the opener. Hawkins hit her biggest and loudest strikeout of the night as fans were cheering in the top of the 6th inning. Oregon would leave two on base in the bottom of the sixth and Hawkins would come out to finish the game. She finished the night at 9-2 on the season picking up the win with 14 strikeouts. She gave up 2 hits on the night.
Game two of the three game series is Friday night at 6pm. Saturday the finale vs Stanford is set for Noon.
