NCAA Tournament: Oregon Ducks Defeat Duke, Move To Elite 8
The Oregon Ducks move on to the Elite 8 after beating the Duke Bluedevils on Thursday night led by Dillon Brooks.

Momentum is a scary thing. Right now, the Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball has a full head of steam entering the Elite 8 after defeating Duke on Thursday night. Saturday will mark their first Elite 8 Appearance since 2007 and Dana Altman’s team has won 11 straight games and are just 3 wins away from a National Championship.
The Oregon Ducks took to the court in Anaheim on Thursday night as they have throughout the NCAA Tournament. It was all business. Dwayne Benjamin was slamming down dunks in pregame, they were loose and ready to go against 4 Seed Duke. In fact, Oregon led all but two minutes of the game against the Bluedevils. Dillon Brooks had 22 points as Oregon set a new mark for wins in a season at 31.
Elgin Cook has been instrumental all season long and has been the balance of the team. He had 16 points and was a rebound shy of his second double double in the NCAA Tournament. If there is one thing this season’s Sweet 16 can do, it is shoot. Overall the 16 teams entering Thursday had the highest shooting percentage in the Tourney hitting at 58 percent from the field. The Oregon Ducks hit 49 percent from the field for the game, and over 50 percent in the first half.
Five players for the Oregon Ducks finished in double figures including Elgin Cook, Dillon Brooks, Chris Boucher(11), Casey Benson(11) and Jordan Bell(13). Bell also was a force on Defense with 3 blocks and 2 steals on the night.

Oregon will now face Oklahoma in the Elite 8 on Saturday. Tipoff in Anaheim is set for 3:07pm Pacific Time on CBS.
