Oregon Softball lost two of three against UCLA last week and will look to get the bad taste out of their mouth against Portland State on Tuesday with a doubleheader at Jane Sanders Stadium

The Oregon Ducks Softball team did not look good over the weekend against UCLA. Over the weekend they did not hit a single home run and on Sunday they were only able to come away with three hits. Friday night saw a rough start for Starter Cheridan Hawkins as she threw two innings, hit two batters and had Oregon in a big hole early in a 16-6 blowout. Saturday saw poised Freshman Megan Kleist on the mound who steadied her team to a 6-5 win that almost got away and Sunday had fans again hanging their heads in frustration with their second loss in three game for the Oregon Ducks.

Over the weekend, Oregon lost their first Pac-12 Series since 2013. Yes, you read that right. The Ducks take a break from the Pac-12 on Tuesday and will face Portland State for two games.

The Pilots are headed in the opposite direction of Oregon winning their first Big Sky series of the year and taking two of three last weekend over Southern Utah. Kortney Kraker and SheaLee Lindsey are my players to watch on Tuesday. Kraker is on a hot streak of late with 11 multi hit games this season including five hits over two games last weekend. Lindsey went 7 of 9 in the series including a 4 for 4 game. She improved her batting average to .387. Clearly, the Oregon Ducks are still the better team.

UCLA solved the Oregon Ducks Offense. They just need to find their confidence. Most of their roster is still at or over a .300 average. Nikki Udria is hitting at .467 to lead the team. Koral Kosta on Saturday eclipsed the .500 mark in Pac-12 play. On the mound, Cheridan Hawkins needs to find her confidence. These are games that Oregon should take the upper hand and win.
