Both games featured a dominating Offensive effort by the Oregon Ducks. In the first game Megan Kleist threw five innings giving up five hits and just one run. Gwen Svekis hit a two run home run and Danica Mercado showed off her speed as the Ducks took control and scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning capped off by Mercado stealing home base for a 3-1 Oregon lead. The Ducks had 7 hits in the 7-1 Game 1 win over the Pilots.

The storyline last weekend against UCLA was Starting Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins. She had a rough outing to open the series throwing just two innings, hitting two batters and starting the series off on a bad note and a 16-6 loss. Oregon would go on to lose the series, but on Tuesday Hawkins looked like her old self. She was dominant. She threw 4 2/3 innings giving up just one hit and struck out 12 Pilot batters.

It was a run ruled effort by the Oregon Ducks and an 11-3 win. Again, the Oregon Offense was up to the task and put up 5 runs in the first inning. Nikki Udria powered the Offense early with a two run home run and Mike White and the Ducks never looked back. The Oregon Ducks tacked on another 4 runs in the third and 2 runs in the fourth inning to sweep the Portland State.
