The Oregon Ducks have found success on the field under Mark Helfrich and finished last season with a 9-4 record. Over the last few weeks several high profile recruits have visited Eugene and the University. On Tuesday one took to Twitter to announce his Top 6 schools and the Oregon Ducks made the list.
4-Star Running Back Trey Sermon, a member of the Class of 2017 has the Ducks on his list. He has recently visited the SEC and taken unofficial visits to Alabama, along with Oklahoma and Tennessee according to 247Sports.
Trey Sermon is 6 foot 5 and 215 pounds and currently in his Senior year at Sprayberry in Marietta Georgia. He is listed as 14th out of the State of Georgia and 9th by the Running Back position.
Oregon could be in search of a solid recruit for the 2017 recruiting class to compliment Taj Griffin and Royce Freeman. If Freeman returns for his Senior season, Sermon may have a redshirt available. I expect Freeman may decide to leave early for the NFL depending on how the Oregon Ducks 2016 turns out.
Of course, it never hurts to bolster your backfield with high star talent, but as we learned with Thomas Tyner you don’t know how successful a player will be until they get on the field. The Oregon Football team is in their third week of Spring Practice.
