The Oregon Basketball team saw success in 2015-16 thanks in part to both Chris Boucher, who came in as a one year transfer and was recently granted another season of College eligibility. Boucher will not test the NBA Draft Waters and will return to Oregon next season. Dillon Brooks is coming off a solid Sophomore season that saw him in conversation for Pac-12 Player of the Year. With their leadership, the team reached the Elite 8 of the NCAA Tournament.
Dillon Brooks will declare for the NBA Draft according to ESPN, but unlike College Football can still return to school following a rule change last year. The rule change allows for college players to ‘test the waters’ so to speak and to get a free evaluation at the next level. If they like what they here they can opt out of their college eligibility. If not, they have until May 25th to decide their best option and can return to school.
Chris Boucher has only been playing basketball for the last four years of his life and has shown in that time that he can not only block shots, but also score offensively. When he came to Oregon it was primarily as a shot blocker, along with Jordan Bell. However Bell missed the first part of the season recovering from a foot injury and Boucher became a two way star for the Oregon Ducks. Bell will also return to Oregon next season.
Dillon Brooks played in 38 games for Oregon and hit 47 percent from the floor and 33 percent from beyond the arc. He averaged close to 17 points per game. Boucher hit 53 percent from the floor and had 30 steals and 110 blocks on the season while averaging just over 12 points per game.
One other player, Tyler Dorsey is also yet to decide on his future. All four players are enrolled for the Spring term at the University of Oregon.
