The Oregon Ducks are always looking to the future for recruiting and have already turned the page on 2017. The team is looking to 2018 for the top talent in the country and have made an early offer to Defensive Tackle Tommy Togiai according to 247Sports. He is just a Sophomore in high school. It is expected that over the next year that Togiai will recieve offers from top schools across the country, but sometimes it is first impressions that last the longest.
Speaking of first impressions, Oregon was the second team to offer the Pocatello, Idaho Defensive Tackle with Utah becoming the first. With Brady Hoke coaching at Oregon, the offer means that he hopes to be around in a few years to coach this young man. Tommy Togiai is in the Elite category and in watching some film on him, it is easy to see why.
Defensive Tackle Tommy Togiai Highlights(via Hudl)
There is one thing I noticed immediately. He can finish. Most of his finishes have either the Quarterback or Running Back on the ground. He has the speed to catch players out of the backfield and the agility to get past Offensive Lineman to break up a pass and create opportunity for his teammates on Defense. With Oregon shifting to the 4-3 Defensive alignment this season, he could fit into multiple positions in a few years with the Oregon Ducks.
