Oregon Ducks Baseball Sweeps USC For 5th Straight Win
The Oregon Ducks swept USC in three games in part due to early Offense and allowing their pitchers run support to win their last five games.

The Ducks showed confidence at the plate the first three games of the series and on Friday and Saturday had to battle against the USC Trojans. Saturday saw USC take a 3 run lead in the first inning but Oregon came back with 7 runs in the 2nd inning and ultimately won the game in the end 12-8.
David Peterson started for Oregon with a 1.30 ERA, the lowest on the team among Starters as the Ducks went for the three game series sweep of the USC Trojans on Sunday at PK Park.
Peterson would start the game with a 1-2-3 inning for Oregon on the mound. Austin Grebeck would get things started for Oregon in the first with an infield single bringing up Kyle Kasser. Grebeck threatened to steal numerous times on USC Starting Pitcher Kyle Davis before drawing a walk and Oregon had two on with no outs with A.J. Balta at the plate.
Balta would work an early 3-0 count in his favor. He hit a line drive to first base for an out, but advanced the runners. Jake Bennett flew out to right field, as Grebeck scored from third giving Oregon a 1-0 lead with two outs.
Stephen Packard would single scoring Kasser from second base and it was 2-0 Oregon. The early hit parade would continue with Tim Susnara, but Daniel Patzlaff would fly out to end the inning for the Ducks. Oregon would add 3 runs in the bottom of the 2nd Inning.
David Peterson would allow his first hit in the top of the third after giving up a walk He would get out of the inning giving up a run.
The Trojans were in chip away mode again in the top of the 4th, but Peterson picked off Frankie Rios on fist for the second out of the inning and Adalberto Carillo hit the ball back to Peterson who threw him out.
USC would load the bases in the top of the fifth inning and no outs and have their best opportunity to get back in the game. USC would pick up a run to make it 5-2.
David Peterson would finish the day throwing 5 innings and giving up 2 runs on 2 hits. Isaiah Carranza would pitch the top of the sixth for a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout and into the eighth giving up three hits and a run,

Brac Warren would come into the game and after a stellar start this season would give up two runs and two hits. With two outs he gave up a three run home run to Adalberto Carillo to bring the USC Trojans within a run at 6-5. Stephen Nagosek would relieve Warren.
The Ducks would add three runs in the bottom of the 8th for an 8-5 lead and Stephen Nagosek would secure the win, the fifth straight for Oregon.

The Oregon Ducks host Oregon State for a single non-conference game on Monday(6pm) before beginning a road series at UCLA later this week. .
