The Oregon Ducks Baseball team has won five straight games and have won their first Pac-12 series sweep of the year against the USC Trojans over the weekend. It was the Oregon Ducks Offense that had it going all weekend with each player picking up a hit on Sunday and big Offensive plays from Austin Grebeck, who was on base in all three of his at bats Sunday. Travis Moniot showed his range on Defense and his range on Offense hitting two home runs over the weekend for the Oregon Ducks.
Oregon started Pac-12 play 2-5 and over the last two weeks are back in the Pac-12 race at 7-5. They face Oregon State for a single non-conference matchup on Monday. The Beavers are 6-6 entering the game, one behind Oregon in the Pac-12 Conference. Against Washington State over the weekend, the Cougars racked up 22 hits and 7 runs against Oregon State pitching. The Beavers come into PK Park having lost two of their last three with the series against Washington State.
Christian Donahue has hit in six straight games and went 2 for 5 in the Saturday game against the Cougars. He is hitting .462 during the streak and is one to watch for the Beavers on Monday night. Even though the game is against a Pac-12 foe, it is considered a non-conference game due to the fact that it is a single game, and not a series. Oregon will host OSU again on April 27th for a single game before playing their first true Civil War Series against Oregon State in Corvallis May 13th-15th.
Oregon will use multiple pitchers in the game on Monday, to give rest to some and experience for others The Starter will likely be Kyle Robeniol who is 3-2 on the season with an ERA just over 5. Closer Stephen Nagosek who was lights out in the series against USC should also be available, if needed against the Beavers.
