The Oregon Ducks entered the series with UCLA looking to add to their momentum from sweeping USC at home last week. That momentum has come to a screeching halt after only picking up 9 hits in the last two games against the UCLA Bruins and being swept out of Los Angeles. Oregon is beginning to out of time to make an impression on the NCAA Tournament Committee for a post season berth and things need to turn around.

An early lead the entire series is what kept the Bruins going. The Oregon Ducks could not catch up or catch up to Bruins pitching. Saturday saw another 4-0 start and by the end of the 2nd inning it was 10-0 UCLA in the bottom of the sixth inning when David Peterson was pulled from the game, by the end of the inning it was 13-0. The Bruins won the game 13-1.

The Oregon Ducks took the confidence from last week on Offense and Defense and watched both disappear at Jackie Robinson Stadium. All three Oregon Starting pitchers took losses.d The one positive was Oregon Ducks Closer Stephen Nagosek who pitched a perfect 8th inning on Saturday to lower his ERA to 1.11 on the year.

Oregon returns to PK Park to face Oregon State on Wednesday night at 7 followed by Washington State for at three game series this weekend starting on Friday.
