A day after Starting Pitcher Cheridan Hawkins got her one-thousandth strikeout in an Oregon uniform and the Ducks won 2-0 over Arizona, the team was back at Jane Sanders Stadium on Saturday with a sold out crowd and Freshman Megan Kleist on the mound. She allowed a hit in the first inning, but the Offense came from her teammate Nikki Udria in the bottom of the first.
Udria with two outs hit a ball that sailed over the right field wall for a home run giving the Ducks a one run lead. Geri Ann Glasco scored the second run of the game when Jenna Lilley flied out to left field. Oregon would find another scoring opportunity in the bottom of the 5th inning with two on and two out. Nikki Udria would hit her second home run of the game, a three run shot making it 5-0 Oregon.
Arizona would get runners on base in the top of sixth, but a double play would end the threat.
Oregon would be looking for more runs in the sixth inning. Lauren Lindvall would walk. After six foul balls Hailey Decker belted a two run home run over the center field wall making it 7-0 Oregon Ducks. The Oregon Offense appeared to be out of their late March, early April slump that saw them lose a series to UCLA.
