The Oregon Ducks Baseball team has won four of their last five after falling in the series opener against Washingon State last weekend at PK Park. Cole Irvin righted the ship with a complete game shutout last Saturday and Oregon has won three straight taking the series from the Cougars and winning on the road in Hillsboro on Wednesday against San Diego. Irvin will take the mound on Friday to start a five game series that begins with three at Arizona State, followed by two at home Monday and Tuesday against Gonzaga.

The Oregon Ducks Offense has been more on point of late. Travis Maniot added to his homerun total which now stands at 5 on the year during the series and Jake Bennett went 4 for 5 for the series. The Ducks will have to take advantage of situations on the road against the Sundevils this weekend.

Arizona State has Oregon’s number and have taken five of the last six games, including a sweep last season at PK Park. Catcher Brian Serven has a gun and has thrown out 20 opposing runners attempting to steal, which could provide a big storyline this weekend. The Sun Devils have been winning of late and have taken their RPI into the top 70. Wins against ASU could be critical for an Oregon team looking to boost their own RPI for the opportunity to play in the NCAA Tournament.

To start the series, Oregon Ducks Head Coach George Horton is throwing his two best pitchers with Irvin getting the Friday nod, and David Peterson throwing on Saturday. The remaining three games of the five day slate is yet to be determined as far as who will throw for the Ducks.
