Arizona is the State that Ryan Kelley calls home and he will remain in his home state, and in the Pac-12 for that matter. He announced on Twitter that he has committed to play for Todd Graham and Arizona State. According to USA Today, the Class of 2017 prospect was once rated as the top dual threat Quarterback in the nation, but has dropped to number five of late.
Kelley was commited to play for the Oregon Ducks until last weekend and the Spring Game. After watching Dakota Prukop lead and two very capable backups in Travis Jonsen and Terry Wilson who suited up for the game. Former Quarterbacks Jeff Lockie and Taylor Alie have shifted to the Wide Receiver position. For the Spring, it appears that Prokup is the standout entering Fall Camp. With the Quraterback position more solid that it has been the last few years, Kelley likely saw an early Starting opportunity being wasted with Jonsen being the heir apparent to Prukop this upcoming season.
Todd Graham now has the two top Quarterbacks from Arizona on his roster moving forward as Ryan Kelley remains in his home state to play for the Sundevils. Of course, that means that the Oregon Ducks will have likely face and Arizona State team over the next few years against a former one time top recruit, but such is the business of College Football.
