The Oregon Ducks know what they want when it comes to Recruiting and Jarred Vanderbilt has it all. A 5-Star Forward out of Texas is listed as the third best out of the State in the position for the Class of 2017 according to 247Sports.
The Oregon Ducks are the most recent team to offer him, to go along with Kentucky, Arizona and others. Dana Altman is using the Ducks Profile to the teams advantage.
The Oregon Ducks were as for real as you could get in 2015-16 getting all the way to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8. The team showed they can play with the big boys of College Basketball so why not try for one of the top recruits? It appears that Kentucky is the likely landing spot for Vanderbilt, but for now Altman and the Oregon Ducks can be happy to know they have their hats in the ring for his services. Vanderbilt announced the Ducks offer on Twitter.
Oregon would be a good fit for Vanderbilt as the team looks to replace several players that have graduated including Elgin Cook and Dwayne Benjamin. Playing time at a school like Kentucky may see time on the bench, where the Ducks could have an opportunity for plenty of minutes the way Altman runs his rotation. It may be work a look or at least a visit to Eugene for the 5-Star recruit.
