The Oregon Ducks Men’s Basketball team is in the midst of the offseason. Former player Elgin Cook will not participate in the NBA Combine due to a broken finger suffered in off season workouts according to Jeff Goodman from ESPN.
Elgin Cook was the glue for the Oregon Men’s Basketball team on their Elite 8 run this past season and was slated just inside the top 100 for the NBA Draft according to some projections. Goodman says he should be good to return to the court on Monday, but missing the Combine is big. According to The Morning Ledgerconsidering 39 of the 63 players who participated last season were Drafted . CBS Sports also lists Cook as a Sleeper entering the Combine and a solid performance there could have ensured he was with an NBA team entering the offseason.
Cook averaged close to 15 points and 3 rebounds per game for the Oregon Ducks in 2016 helping the team reach the Elite 8 in the NCAA Tournament.
