Oregon Ducks Win Fourth Straight Pac-12 Title Behind Cheridan Hawkins
The Oregon Ducks looked to take the Pac-12 Title with a win on Thursday night against Utah and sent Senior Cheridan Hawkins to mound in a very fitting spot for her 20th win of the year.

It was a perfect night for softball at Jane Sanders Stadium. Hawkins would start the night on the mound with two strikeouts. Oregon would find three ground outs in the bottom of the first inning. It appeared to be a chess match through the first inning and a half. It took just 14 minutes. Gerei Anne Glasco would start the bottom of the 2nd with a hit, Janelle Lindvall layed down a bunt that stopped in front of the plate. She was safe at first. Oregon appeared to be in business. Two batters later Lauren Lindvall hit a single up the middle scoring Danica Mercado. Mike White watched the Ducks take a 1-0 lead.
Utah would tie the game in the top of the third. Alyssa Gillespie threw out the go ahead run at the plate to keep the score tied until Glasco started another round of Oregon scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning with a double. Janelle Lindvall picked up Oregon’s 5th hit of the game. Lauren Lindvall was hit by a pitch two batters later loading the bases with one out for Hailey Decker.
Decker hit into a double play to end the inning.
Oregon found their bats again int he bottom of the fifth. Alyssa Gillespie started the inning with a hit followed by Jenna Lilley to put two on base for Nikki Udria. Udria would find a bunt at home plate and be safe at first base. Two batters later Geri Anne Glasco, who was two for two on the night would take a 3-0 count. Three pitches later she hit a laster to right field plating two runs and the Ducks took a 3-1 lead.
Alyssa Gillepsie took a one ball one strike count over the right field wall for a two run home run giving the Oregon Ducks a 5-1 lead. It was their 10th hit of the game. The team would go on to win the game and clinch their fourth straight outright Pac-12 Conference Title, tying UCLA from 1988-1991. Oregon Starter Cheridan Hawkins would also reach a milestone 20th win on the season.

Oregon would look to boost their RPI the rest of the weekend facing Utah on Friday(7pm) and Saturday for Senior Day at 2pm at Jane Sanders Stadium.
