Reitmaier is the 7th highest ranked Defensive Tackle in the Class of 2017 according to 247Sports. One thing that Oregon fans can be excited about is his size. He is six foot three and plays fast. He has garnered interest from 17 schools including Oregon and could be a big asset on Defense starting in 2017 for Brady Hoke.
According to the Oregonian Rutger Reitmaier committed on Wednesday night via Twitter with a photo surrounded by Oregon Coaches. One of the reasons for his commitment following his visit was that he felt at home here. He is the third athlete the Ducks have taken out of Tennessee in recent years.
"I want to thank God for all the blessings he has bestowed on me, my coaches and family for helping me achieve my goals,” he wrote. “I would also like to thank all the football coaches and programs and coaches who have recruited me through this process. But, after talking it over with my family and coaches I am excited and blessed to announce I am committed to the University of Oregon!!!”Reitmayer Talked With The Oregonian Following His Commitment"
Reitmaier becomes the fourth overall commit for the Oregon Ducks 2017 Recruiting Class and the second on the Defensive side of the ball. He is looking to enroll early with Oregon which has been a benefit to Student Athletes that have followed that path in recent years.
