On Monday he was picked up by the Houston Texans off the Waiver Wire according to ProFootballTalk. He will look to help improve the Defensive Backfield of a team that is primed for a playoff run with JJ Watt running the Defense alone in 2016. It will be the former Oregon Corners Third team in his NFL Career.
Terrance Mitchell started in Dallas, spent some time with Chicago in 2015, then returned to Dallas in 2016. Mitchell was drafted by Dallas in the seventh round in 2014 and has shown off some skills. With the move to another team, he should have an opportunity with a fresh start.
With the Starting Rotation pretty much set in Houston, Mitchell will be competing for a Reserve Position, similar to his role in Dallas. Mitchell left the Oregon Ducks early, with another season of eligibility. At times his lack of NFL Experience has shown, but he has found his own way with the Cowboys and the Bears over the last few seasons.
