Kelly Graves is entering his third season and now has the pieces in place that he wants for the program moving forward by signing a very highly touted Class of 2016. ESPNW lists her as the fourth best in the Nation. According to GoDucks.com, that makes Ionescu the highest rated incoming recruit to ever sign with the Oregon Ducks.
Ionescu has accomplished plenty in her High School career including being named USA Today National Player of the Year and McDonald’s All America Game MVP, a game where she had a double double with 25 points and 10 rebounds. She has also won World Championships competing and winning gold for Team USA in competition at the U16 FIBA America’s and the Worlds at U17 FIBA.
She is already an accomplished athlete and brings plenty of talent to the Oregon Ducks. She may be the key to the best Recruiting Class in Program History. Time will tell, but Head Coach Kelly Graves is building something in Eugene. The foundation for the future begins in 2016 with bigger things to come moving forward.
