Ryon Healy has been hitting the ball well in the Minors this season at over a .300 clip. He was brought up on Friday and entered into the Starting Rotation. His first two games did not disappoint. Facing the Toronto Blue Jays Healy belted his first Major League Home Run, a three run shot and also started a 5-4-3 Double Play showing no nerves after being called up to the Big Show.
It was a good start for the former Oregon Duck, but of course no one knows how long his stay with Oakand will be. Clearly if he continues to perform, it may be longer. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, it was a big moment for Healy, “It kind of hit me when I saw all the guys at home plate and they gave me big high-fives, and the guys in the dugout gave me the silent treatment, which I loved.”
Healy will again get the Start for the Series Finale against the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.
