The Oregon Ducks have been once again bitten by the injury bug. Last season it was Transfer Dylan Ennis, now word that Pac-12 Player of the Year Candidate. According to the Register Guard and Steve Mims, Dillon Brooks has undergone surgery on his injured foot. Last month it was reported that he was injured, but no one knew the extent. They still don’t. The only ones who may know are team doctors and Head Coach Dana Altman.
One thing is clear, if Brooks is out for an extended period of time, it could impact the upcoming season. For the short term, the Oregon Ducks have plenty of weapons at their disposal, and even have Dylan Ennis for a sixth season of eligibility. For the time he is out, one of the younger guys could be pushed into an early experience to start the upcoming season, also keeping in mind that if it was something minor, and only needs a few months to heal, Brooks could be back in time for the start of the year.
Dillon Brooks and his versatility are certainly not an issue. His 2015-16 season helped lead the Oregon Ducks to the NCAA Tournament Elite 8. Brooks averaged roughly 17 points per game last season.
