Sometimes when there is a change, things don’t mesh the right way. In shifting from a 3-4 to a 4-3 Defense things can change, as can roles on a team. Chris Seisay was out a good part of last season due to injury, but the main concern about losing the Junior is experience.
According to 247Sports, he was behind Arrion Springs and Malik Lovette in practice and likely would have seen playing time as a backup this season, which with the new Defensive scheme may not have been a bad thing.
Depth on the Defense will now be a question that new Defensive Coordinator Brady Hoke will have to answer for. The team in 2015 gave up close to 30 points per game and needed all the experience they could get from the outside entering the season. That experience will now have to come in Practice and in the first few games of the regular season. The 2016 season will be won or lost in the Pac-12.
Chris Seisay was granted a full release from the University of Oregon.
