It is hard to believe that College Football season is already back, meaning that the NFL, already in the Preseason, will be playing games for real soon enough. The Oregon Duck have plenty of hype and still some questions entering the season, but the California Golden Bears will begin the process of answering on Friday evening. The Golden Bears averaged over 37 points per game last season with Jared Goff at the helm and replace him this season. Hawaii averaged closer o 15 points per game from a season ago.

The Golden Bears will have a new face at Quarterback replacing Goff, which will not be an easy task. They hope for a good start from Texas Tech Graduate Transfer David Webb who has the experience.. In three seasons he threw for over 5000 yards and 46 touchdowns. Cal had eight wins last season, their most since 2009 for a program that is rebuilding with the Sonny Dykes. A win on Friday would get the team off to a good start on the 2016 season.

Cal will have an opportunity to make a big move with Texas in a few weeks in the eyes of the National Media. A good National Impression with the first game of the season won’t hurt either. Hawaii comes in with a new Head Coach and look to a fresh start.

Last season the Rainbow Warriors were 3-10 and winless at 0-8 in the Mountain West Conference. Former Quarterback Nick Rolovich takes over and brings in an interesting International talent to the program. Running Back Genta Ito hails from Japan and tranferred to Cal following to years at Santa Monica College.
