In the end, he made the roster after it appeared there were several viable options ahead of him in every position. Last week five Wide Receivers were reportedly doing better in Training Camp and the Preseason, which also included the punt return game. Kansas City looked to better themselves by way of a trade that more than likely allowed them to hold onto Thomas according to KansasCity.com
De’Anthony Thomas did not have a very good 2015 season. He suffered a concussion late in the season that kept him out much of December. Against Green Bay in the final Preseason tuneup he had four receptions for 45 yards. DAT lead the Chiefs with 10 receptions during the Preseason and will look to be a contributor this season.
The former Oregon Duck is taking the right approach, “It’s 2016, a new year, new goals.” It appears that Kansas City will stay with five Wide Receivers for the upcoming season. Thomas comes in as one of the more experienced players at Wideout and will likely play inside during the season.
The Chiefs begin the 2016 season hosting the San Diego Chargers on Sunday at 1pm.
