While the season for Virginia started with a loss, the team will look to keep up with the Oregon Ducks on Saturday night. Oregon Offensive Coordinator spoke with the media on Wednesday and was candid about the Cavaliers. He faced Coach Bronco Mendenhall when he was at Duke and knows he will have his guys prepared for the matchup under the lights, “They’re a good football team. I’m sure after last week they’ll be fired up…We played them down there a couple of years ago..they have a lot of talent on Defense. Wherever Coach Mendenhall has been he’s done a good job.”

One area that seemed to be lacking in the first game, at least to start was tempo. The team has been working hard this week to correct that. Earlier in the week Quarterback Dakota Prukop made note that most teams see the biggest improvement between the first and second week of the season. Lubick echoed his Quarterback, “Tempo is the whole team. He(Prukop) has done a great job driving it during Fall Camp. Part of tempo is getting first downs, we have to do a better job of that.”

In looking at the Offensive Line last Saturday it took a few series to get their positioning right. They also have their first game out of the way which should make things easier on Saturday night, but Lubick still has reason for concern, “What do we do well, and what do we do because of the way they thing that we can do a little bit better. I don’t know what they are going to do.”
