It appears the Quarterback Competition as a fresh start for the 2-3 Oregon Ducks.

With Oregon having a rough start the first month of the season, fans may get their wish. Former Sheldon High School Quarterback Justin Herbert may start in his first college game on Sunday, according to the 247Sports. This may end up being a big mistake.

The Washington Huskies come to Eugene looking for their first win since 2002. For Oregon to have a chance to win I think you need to go with experience, even if it has led you to three straight losses. While Herbert has looked okay in his very limited on-field experience this season, he will be eaten alive by the Washingon Defense that boats three 300+ pound players up front.

It may be a smokescreen to think that Herbert will start in place of Prukop – they did announce Royce Freeman as the Starter against Colorado and he never saw the field that night. If it is execution that is the issue, perhaps Prukop will get it right against Washington in the biggest game and the biggest National Stage the team will see all season.

As much as fans want Offensive Change, it is the Defense that is the much larger issue. Giving up 30+ points per game does not get you a W, unless you have Marcus Mariota at Quarterback to balance the Defensive deficiency.

Oregon may be in trouble regardless of who starts at Quarterback on Saturday.
