Last week the Ducks landed at Number 5 of the Coaches Poll, now they are also fifth in the first AP Poll of the season. The Ducks are loaded entering the season with four of five Starters from last year returning including Dillon Brooks and Tyler Dorsey. Brooks is recovering from a foot injury.
On Media Day earlier this month, Brooks was seen without a boot and has been doing workouts to get back in game shape. It is hopeful that Oregon will see him on the court by Pac-12 play if not before. Brooks was also named one of the top five players in the country recently by CBS Sports.
There are three teams from the Pac-12 in the first poll to open the season. Along with the Oregon Ducks, Arizona(10) and UCLA(16) made the poll.
Oregon should be able to get along without him to start the season. The team will have to play small ball, but have the talent to contend in the Non-Conference. Oregon will put a 27 game home winning streak on the line at Matthew Knight Arena to begin the season next week.
