Lindsey Vander Weide led the Oregon Ducks again, but it was a loss against a better Utah team moving the Ducks to second place in the Pac-12 Conference, one game behind the Utes.
Errors hurt Jim Moore’s team from the start, but the team was able to stay with Utah in each set, but the Utes took the momentum to take three of four sets in the Ducks final regular season homestand.
Vander Weide led the way with 15 kills and 12 digs netting her 10th double-double of the year. The fourth set saw Oregon tie the set at 9-9 before Utah put the set and the match out of reach for Oregon.
The road has been better for the Oregon Ducks this season and the team has yet to lose away from home. The Ducks host Colorado on Thursday night for the final home game of the regular season then hit the road for four games against UCLA, USC, Stanford and Oregon State.
The Oregon Ducks could still host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament with a strong finish to the season.
