Two NFL Quarterbacks were lost for the rest of 2016 with Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota suffering the same injury on Saturday.
It was not a good weekend to be a Quarterback in the National Football League. Oakland Raiders Quarterback Derek Carr andn Tennessee Titans Quarterback Marcus Mariota both left their respective games with substantial injuries.
Carr and Mariota fractured their tibia and will be done for the rest of the season. Mariota left in the third quarter with his team losing to the Jacksonville Jaguars. They would lose the game in the process and miss the playoffs following the Houston Texans victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. So, what now for the former Oregon Signal Caller?

Doctors have taken a look and will perform surgery on Wednesday on Mariota. Dr. Robert Anderson will place a plate on the bone to provide stability and healing. The plate will not interfere with his future mobility. He should have a full recovery.
The procedure will require four to five months to heal and the good news is Marcus Mariota will be back in time for offseason OTA’s at the end of May in preparation for the 2017 season.
Mariota had a huge season for Tennessee in just his second full season in the NFL. He threw for 25 touchdowns and over 3400 yards on the year and was named an alternate to the Pro Bowl.
