Oregon Ducks In The Super Bowl: LeGarrette Blount Leads New England
Oregon Football will have representation on Sunday in the Super Bowl led by LeGarrette Blount of the New England Patriots.
While the storyline early in the season was the loss of Tom Brady to suspension, the team persevered and has flourished in his return to the field. On the ground, LeGarrette Blount has been a beast this season. He has had a 1,000 yard season in 2016 and found the endznoe 18 times. Blount has been a workhorse. His first carry on Sunday will be his 300th of the year. Atlanta will need to contain the former Oregon Football Running Back early and often to allow Matt Ryan a chance to get the Falcons Offense off on the right foot.

New England also has the services of Patrick Chung on Defense. Chung is in his seventh season in the League. He has spent six of his seven seasons with New England. He had a solid season in 2016 leading up to the Big Game. Patrick Chung has 91 tackles along with a sack and an interception and has become part of the New England Patriots Defense at Strong Safety, a position nearly as important as Cornerback. It will be interesting watching him roam the center of the Defense against Atlanta.
The Atlanta Falcons do not have a former Oregon Alum on their roster, but do have ten representatives from the Pac-12 Conference including Desmont Trufant on Defense. In his fourth NFL Season Trufant has become a key player on the Falcons Defense. He played in every game the last three seasons and will play in his 10th game of the season in 2016 on Sunday.
Trufant is joined by other former Pac-12 Alums including Derrick Shelby(Utah), Brooks Reed(Arizona), Austin Hooper(Stanford) and Dashon Goldson(Washington).
