Oregon Softball Opens Pac-12 Play Hosting California

The Oregon Ducks Softball team brings 24 games worth of momentum into the opening Pac-12 Series of the Year vs California.

In Softball the non-conference slate is considered a tune-up for the Conference season. The Oregon Ducks are a force entering Pac-12 play. Arizona and Washington are right on the Ducks heels with one loss and three losses respectively entering the weekend. The Golden Bears are 17-5 on the year, losing to Minnesota last week. It was the second time this season the team has lost to a ranked opponent.

Oregon enters the three-game series with all the momentum and a number 3 ranking. They are also the last undefeated team standing in Division I Softball. The Cal Bears Offense is led by Lindsay Rood batting .387. The Golden Bears leading hitter has 23 runs and 24 hits on the year. As a team, the Cal Offense is missing a key piece of Offense. As a team they have just three homeruns on the season.

Zoe Conley leads the Cal Pitching Staff with an 8-4 record. The Golden Bears have a team ERA over 2 and opponents at hitting close to .300 against them. The Oregon Ducks are on the opposite end of the spectrum in both Offense and Defense.

Oregon has 11 hitters batting better than .300 and 3 batting .500 or better entering the weekend. Sammie Puentes has 10 runs and 12 hits for the undefeated Ducks. Oregon has racked up 242 hits and 25 homeruns this season.

The California Golden Bears visit Oregon for a three game series starting Friday(6pm Pacific time), Saturday(2pm PT), and Sunday(Noon) at Jane Sanders Stadium.
