Oregon Ducks Open Three Game Series vs Stanford Cardinal
The Oregon Ducks will look again to David Peterson for a good start against Stanford in the return to Pac-12 play at PK Park on Friday night.
Oregon is coming off losing two of three games last weekend on the road against Arizona. Peterson has been a bright spot from the Starting Rotation and is receiving National Attention after winning his last eight consecutive games and posting an ERA at 1.85 on the season. Oregon had a comeback attempt fall short in Game 2 of the series with Arizona last weekend.

For the Oregon Ducks to be successful they need to get back to small ball and getting runners on base. Last season Stanford took two of three from Oregon and returns with one of the best pitching staffs in the Pac-12 and the Nation. Chris Castellanos and Andrew Summerville both pitched well against Oregon last season. Junior Reliever Colton Hock moved to second in the Cardinal record book for saves last week, so Stanford comes in with momentum.
George Horton is aware of Stanford pitching and will have his guys ready. The Ducks bats were quieted last weekend at key points against Arizona. The Ducks will need consistency at the plate this weekend and should be able to find it against Stanford.
Oregon is hitting .263 on the season led by Matthew Dyer at .361. Leadoff Hitter Kyle Kasser is hitting just above the .300 mark at .302 on the season. If Peterson has a type of outing that has garnered him attention this season, Oregon may be able to get out with a one or two run victory on Friday night to open the series.
