Marcus Mariota and the Tennessee Titans have a 2017 Schedule that lines up well with key competition at home and challenges on the road.

While the 2016 Tennessee Titans lost Marcus Mariota toward the end of the season and barely missed out on the Playoffs, the team this year has a better than average shot at making the Postseason with games that are against inexperienced teams and games at home.

The Tennessee Titans have the luxury of flying somewhat under the radar for most of the 2017 Regular season playing just two games starting after 8pm Pacific Time. The first happens to be a game against a division rival in Indianapolis in October and a mid-November date with the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road.

The Preseason includes games against the New York Jets, Carolina, Chicago, and Kansas City. Both the Panthers and the Bears visit Nissan Stadium. A healthy Marcus Mariota should be on the field for part of these games.

September starts with a challenge. Tennessee faces Oakland in their home opener to start the year followed by games at Jacksonville, home against Seattle and a second road game at Houston. A 2-1 start is easily feasible, but 3-0 could be ideal with a home upset of the Seahawks.

October opens with three of four games on the road starting with Houston and an improve Miami team. The Titans will host Indianapolis before traveling to Cleveland to take on the Browns and close out the month.

November is the make or break month for Tennessee. Following a bye week, Tennessee hosts Baltimore andCincinnatii in back to back weeks before traveling to Pittsburgh and Indianapolis in a Divisional matchup with the Colts.

The final month of the regular season opens with hosting Houston. There are five games on the schedule in December, including two against the NFC West. The Titans travel to take on Arizona and San Francisco on back to back weeks before closing the Regular season at home against the Los Angeles Rams and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

This is the first season that the 2017 Schedule has been released before the NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see if strategy plays a role in the First and Second Round with teams based on the upcoming schedule.

Last season Team Chemistry made major strides with this team. I expect that to continue entering 2017. Tennessee has some needs, at Wide Receiver and the need some speed on the Defense in key positions. I’m not sure the Draft will be able to accommodate everything, but this team will compete and may turn a few heads as they did in 2016.
