The Oregon Ducks enter a critical stretch in the month of May that could make or break the opportunity for a solid seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Oregon Head Coach George Horton knows that it has been a rough road the last few weeks for his team. The Ducks let a series get away against Arizona and at home against Stanford. The series with the Cardinal could hurt them more in the long run.

As it stands, D1Baseball is projecting the Oregon Ducks(25-15, 8-10 Pac-12) as a 3 Seed playing in Louisville. While a move into the Top 16 for the opportunity to host the first round, and possibly the second if they rank higher is almost out of reach, there is still a month to go. Oregon hits the road this weekend to face Washington State and will face #1 Oregon State in a key Pac-12 Series before all is said and done.

Oregon lost on Tuesday night in Corvallis in a non-conference game against the Beavers, which could have helped their RPI entering the month of May. The Ducks play host to Oregon State next weekend in Eugene before taking on USC and UCLA before postseason play begins.

The bright spot for Oregon is Starting Pitcher David Peterson who is coming off another double-digit strikeout performance against Arizona State. Last Friday he threw a complete game 20 strikeout masterpiece for a 2-0 win. Oregon took the series vs the Sundevils 2-1.
