The Oregon Ducks host Oregon State for three games at PK Park and need to play better baseball against the top team in the country.

You can compare the differences between Oregon Football and Oregon State Baseball and clearly the Beavers have the upper hand on the Diamond. Entering the series this weekend, OSU is not just the top team in the Pac-12 Conference, they are also the number one team in the nation. The Oregon Ducks have not been playing ‘Duck’ baseball of late, losing a one run game against Portland on Tuesday and dropping two games via the bullpen against Washington State.

This is a do or die series for Oregon who still has their eyes on the postseason and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. One reason for hope is Starter David Peterson. He has multiple double-digit strikeout games and is 10-2 on the season. He also now owns the record book with the most strikeouts in an Oregon Ducks Uniform.

Peterson will likely keep his Friday Start position in the series.

Oregon State enters their seventh consecutive week as the number one team. The Beavers pitching staff is also number one in the country with an ERA of 1.99. Luke Heimlich leads the team with a 0.71 Earned Run Average and the anticipated matchup with Peterson Friday night should bring fans out to PK Park.

Nick Madrigal had started and played in all 42 games this season for Oregon State. He is hitting .490 and is the Player to Watch. Oregon has had an opportunity to win, but it has passed them by. Against

Against Portland on Tuesday they had multiple runners in scoring position more than once with no one out, but were unable to capitalize. They will need to find a way this weekend.
